Was Ella Cremin at Ziggurat a mag?
Hidden away in the hidden streets of Burgos is this secret place. Ziggurat has the most extensive menu I've ever seen in a restaurant. If you want Indian, they have it, Lebanese, they have it, Mediterranean, they have it, African they have it. I recommend trying their shawarma, hilbeh, personal kebab sets and their rice. This restaurant is small. We were about 20 in the group and we easily filled it up. It was like we booked the place. Although there were other empty tables that could probably seat 4 people. The middle, where we were, is an area where there are small tables and you can take off your shoes to sit on pillows. The food was too expensive for me but i guess you pay for the authenticity. Pita with multiple dips were our appetizer and for the main dish we had Hanging Garden of Ke-Babylon which included duck, lamb, beef, shrimp, tuna, etc. The flavor was emphasied with the spices. We also ordered different rice and a couple of bowls of chicken curry. Not an expert in this kind of food but i'll give it a 3.5. Because its very expensive. mewithoutsleep.blogspot.com

We keep coming back here whenever we crave for mediterranean food. The place is just like how it was years ago. Wide and long list of food to choose from you'll be confused.

This place looked sad before we even went inside. Two waitresses were standing around at the counter outside, and neither bothered to smile as we requested a table for two even though we were the second set of customers that showed up. It was dimly lit, not in an intimate way but more like a way to save on electricity. The menu was huge but didn’t seem like it would be fresh given the low turnover rate. When we decided to order the vegetarian curry sampler, the waitress appeared confused and uncertain of what it is that we ordered and whether it would even be available. She went away for a long while to ask about it, and we thought that this was not a good sign. So we got up to abandon ship and find somewhere else to eat. At the same time, she finally returned and seemed disappointed that we were leaving after trying to order something. We politely declined her offer to stay, and we overheard her angrily muttering something in a non-English language and throwing down a menu. What a horrendous place. Avoid at all costs.
