This place has the best coffee around southern IL . No Starbucks here thank god!!!! He sells coffee by the cup or the bean, many different flavors. If you like coffee , go and see for yourself . And he has ice cream cones too.

This is a fantastic spot for coffee, whether you're looking for a cup to savor or bags of beans in various sizes. As soon as you step inside, the delightful aromas of numerous coffee flavors envelop you. They also offer ice cream served in cups, sugar cones, or waffle cones, along with one or two vegan sorbet options. It would be amazing if they added soy, almond, or oat-based ice creams to their menu! While they do sell snacks, juice, and water, the prices are a bit high for a small shop. Additionally, although I don’t purchase them myself as I’m not a fan of spicy foods, they have an impressive selection of hot sauces from around the world. The owner is generally welcoming, though there are days when he seems a bit bored or disengaged.

I highly recommend steering clear of this place! We recently visited Makanda Java while staying at Giant City State Park, and it was a disappointing experience. The owner was incredibly rude to my family. Save yourself the trouble and look for other options!

I absolutely love this place! I used to visit it frequently when I lived in Carbondale, and I wish I lived closer so I could come here more often. The owner is very friendly and professional. I really enjoyed the impressive wall of hot sauces, and the ice cream is fantastic. The sandwiches are excellent as well. I will definitely return when I'm in the area again.
