Antigua Residencia - Maipú

This hotel/hostel was an amazing experience and a great starting point for all things Mendoza. The food in the restaurant here was so amazing! Seriously, the food was the best!

We stayed in this restaurant late afternoon and were delighted with the good local homemade food in a beautiful garden. Laura, the owner, was proud to tell us that she buys her food from the local farmers, the wines from the local vineyards and even the bottled water comes from the vicinity! We had the tabla of meat slices, cheese and olives with her husband's homemade bread. So delicious! Worth visiting.

Great wine, good food and business. If you have to recover, this is the place to go. Yes, you can rent bicycles, but why does it bother here? The garden is loved with a mixture of old and new plants. Wi-Fi is fast, rooms comfortable and clean. A great experience.

The food is fresh and good value, but sadly found the staff very unaccommodating. My partner and I were visiting wine farms by bicycle and wanted some food. We buzzed the gate to the hotel at 13h00 and enquired whether we could eat, only to be told that the restaurant only opens at 13h30. I asked whether we could come in and wait either by the pool, restaurant, or outside area, only to be sternly and loudly told that THE RESTAURANT OPENS AT 13h30. Not a great start. It was 35-40 degrees celsius. So we sat outside the gate for 30 minutes not feeling very welcomed. The second instance was that our request to sit outside was denied. The restaurant was very quiet, very hot, and had no music. Overall very little atmosphere. In contrast, sitting outside in the shade surrounded by the pool and fields would have been tranquil, relaxing, and far more enjoyable. We were told that the outside area is only for hotel guests. The outside area consisting (for the entirety of our lunch) of ten empty tables with no hotel guests in sight.

The italian style restaurant at the hostel serve very good food (meat, pasta, sandwich and salad)! They used herbs and vegetables from their garden. My wife and i eat there 2 times. The second time they offered us free focaccias as starter!
