I really can't understand this high rating. I've been there twice (not for my choice) and compared to other portuguese restaurants in Mainz, there is a lot to improve. Food was simple, fresh made, quite cheap. Menu is good, a lot of fish, but not only (as in some other Portuguese restaurant). A lot of staff, nice, authentic, family-kind. Atmosphere is ok if you find place outside. Inside, quite cold (dark, few neon l... View all feedback.
Post lockdown my family and I finally had the opportunity to return to our favorite Portuguese restaurant. everything was as it was very nice staff, very good eating and cheap prices. Of course, handsanitary welcomes all at the door and masks are necessary when they move. for the starter we had manteiga de alho com pão e azeitonas ajoli with oliven and brot, which is nice, but the entrada mista mixed starter plate with which we normally begin is highly recommended. for the main course we ordered lulinhas com alho calamaretti in garlic sauce with frit kartoffel cubes and the day-specificity, grilled pork, which we paired with Portuguese white and red wines. for my children the small black carving with pommes, rice and mirror and limonaden. we finished our costly meal with a pudim caseiro homemade caramelpudding. as always we were thrilled and went very fully home.
Everything is perfect. fish and soup are well cooked according to traditional recipes. highly recommended. young and girls who serve at tables are very friendly and professional.
The place was proposed by a native. it is a very simple place and eating is also good. I expected a little more. we were a big group of people and we asked for mixed starters for all of us. the waiter. said he would organize it, but then we have two tellers with each one object of appetizer, so we needed to share each croquetta in pieces. taste was not really good, some of them remembered eating frozen. the main dish was better, huge amount, but the taste could have been better. the meaty fish dishes were better. the restaurant is definitely trying to personal is great and I would also try something else again.
Super friendly place, served great fish dishes. a little outside the city center, but worth a visit if they stay in mainz. there is a bus stop at the restaurant, but the buses do not really liveable, unless they have a super early dinner (open on and closed on Monday). from the hb they take the bus line or (from direction Kaiser-Wilhel-Ring) and the light on the goethestrasse, go under the railway line along the goethestraße and turn right into the mombacherstraße, the restaurant is right. the opposite is safe. a must for football fans especially as the name of the restaurant is the name of the Portuguese football club in mainz. many trophäen on the display.
Excellent restaurant serving paella, gables, salchio and sea dishes from the best restaurants I have visited. The quality of eating is high and the service is outstanding and the restaurant is family-run and frequented by every visit to Mainz and commend the excellent handling of...Mr. Marcel and the restaurant manager and all the staff
