What Anonym dislikes about St. Gereon:
even if the card and the prices promise much, we found only average eating here. the salatsosse was really bad, the rest was ok, but nothing special. great service, attentive and nice. View all feedback.

Yes, the restaurant was so hospitable, the food was so good that during my visits I did not think of the connection between Saint Gereon, an officer who was beaten because he was not involved in Christian persecution and became a patron saint of soldiers, and looking for the land hotel. In the guest room there is a statue of him with a small explaining table, which I will probably consider better during the next visit. The country hotel with its restaurant is centrally located in the village centre at the beautiful Carl-Zuckmayer-Platz. There is a limited number of parking spaces behind the house, otherwise there is a car parking space on the roadside somewhere in Nackenheim. More often, I was thinking of going to eat in St. Gereon at short notice, but never got a place. With two, three weeks in advance for coveted weekend appointments, it has now worked twice. No wonder, because the place makes a warm, cozy impression, the tables are clean and tidy covered, even table candles and balls as color cups are not missing. To feel good! The theme of Carl Zuckmayer, the writer born here in Nackenheim, is dedicated to the vaulted cellar of the house, which comes up with numerous photos of the filmings of Zuckmayer Dramen and also serves as a guestroom of the restaurant. After the beverage order (beautiful wine card with presentation of various local wineries) it started with lard and fresh bread as a greeting from the kitchen. Even more surprised, when a second, more demanding little greeting came, I was very attentive. I highly recommend the soups as an appetizer, which are strong and full in taste. In the main foods, the small, but varied map with meat, fish and vegetarian dishes is complemented by seasonal recommendations and a menu whose components are also available separately. price range 17 to 22 euros for a main dish; Vegetarian is cheaper, the beef fillet is more expensive. What I like is optics, taste, but also the amount of food. Also the fact that there are different vegetables and the dishes are combined in a variety of ways: here is an Ebly pumpkin risotto, there is a chocolate balsamicosauce, a zucchini-Thymian soufflé, polenta sticks or red wine teddy jus. Simply tasty, so that, even for good, friendly, trained services (by the way, credit cards are accepted and menus are also available in English), you will be happy next time.
