Not sure what has happened. We 've been to Am Gautor a number of times over the years. It is in the neighborhood. We stopped Saturday after the Mainz '05 game and were sorely disappointed. The food was horrible. Hubby had a Crostada . When asked, it was described as like a Flammenkucke . Nice attentive service. Very little English spoken. But menu is bilingual. That makes things easier. On the menu marrocan tagine, steaks, pork and the best schnitzel around. You can even opt for spetze or potatoes. Comes with a nice salad. Portions are generous and very nicely prepared. To top it off the prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend.
Ordered something to go take away) met rudest racists server that when I was the only one in the restaurant my credit purchase was fine. Once a group of ladies came in suddenly they don’t accept credit cards. He told me if I want to eat in I must spend $15 plus or I must get cash if I want to eat. I returned to the hotel and told the rest of my group of 12 people not to go there. They agreed and all went to another restaurant. A group travels there every day I will post this so no one will ever go there
We enjoyed our dinner here the other night. The food was good and the staff was friendly. We were actually lost and just bumped into this restaurant and we're happy with the results. Pricing is excellent. I had the salmon special which I liked alot
