Located in the old part of Mainz city, it seemed like a family business to me, excellent quality of fresh seafood at a very reasonable price. I enjoyed the fish soup and the the octopus dish. The staff made feel at ease as a non...German language speaker by trying to communicate in basic English which was very helpful. View all feedback.

matjes with kartoffels were ordered.The kartoffels were muddyly watery tasteless. salatsoße tasted mostly after maggi. the housewives soned to the matjes, who was very good, was with a lot of eyes and little content halfway tasty. 40 euro for 2 people for middays is also not currently cheap. for that we sat outside and there it's just too loud. Fish eating in mainz - there is a fish jakob right. here there have been the best and freshest fish in mainz for decades - always a high! the staff is always friendly, the dishes are always very good and tasty and the price is moderate. so - who wants to eat in mainz fish is always right with the fish jakob - nix as well!
If I want to enjoy the best fish or the best garnel in mainz then I go to the fishjackob.
The seafood platter is very good. They have a fish market next store. So the fish is always fresh. The only drawback is NO Credit cards
