Cute little coffee and bakery to go to while you wait for your train. Their prices are super affordable and they are quick to serve you. They have plenty of space in the back area, have chargers everywhere, and their own WiFi and password. Their staff was very nice and helpful and wherever you go, they speak better English than any other language. Also, just a tip, when you purchase something at the cashier, you have to take your receipt to the barista for them to get you your coffee or bakery item. That's anywhere in Italy :
It's a napoletano caffè.... You're trainside at Milano Centrale, and want coffee/pastry/sandwich/stuff-you-get-in-a-cafe, where'd you go? You could go back out, and grab what you need at Bar Milano or one of the umpteen caffès on the other side of the gates. Or..., walk over to Mignon (conveniently located right next to where the train to Malpensa leaves) and get a Neapolitan version of whatever you want. Usually long lines, but they love fast, and you rarely wait more than a few minutes. The stuff is tasty, the coffee is good, and you could do far worse...
The only reason I find out about new (to-me places at Centrale station is because train delays make me irritated and not surprisingly, hungry. There was a strike that caused major delays last Friday, and my train was impacted of course. After realizing I was victim to a 40 minute delay, I decided to venture into Mignon, an unassuming vendor at the very end of the train hall, towards tracks 1, 2, and 3. I realized it was a Southern Italy-inspired dessert shop, but I was hoping to find something more savory. I found a bag of chips I thought would be good, and I even got a box of licorice candy out of curiosity. Both ended up being 5.00 and 4.50 euros respectively. Um, seriously? The chips had no flavor (despite being marked as zenzero and curry and the licorice candy was not my style. I suppose I will have to come back here when I have a urge for something sweet. One redeeming thing about this place is the decor. I love the calming blue wall color.
