Cast Iron Grill - Maidstone

This restaurant is a great choice for couples looking for a romantic spot. The steak is delicious, but unfortunately, the cheese board did not meet expectations. The Surf and Turf was excellent, and the brownie was also a standout. Don't forget to try the good selection of Italian wines.

I reserved the Afternoon Tea at Cast Iron Grill as a special Mother’s Day treat for my Mum and Nan, but unfortunately, we were quite disappointed with our experience. Upon arrival, we were seated in the Lobby area instead of inside the actual restaurant due to it being fully booked for the Sunday Carvery. We were placed in a booth with low sofas and a coffee table style which made it uncomfortable to eat, especially for me being 5 months pregnant. We were not given any menus to choose from the selection of teas or alcoholic options, and the waitress promptly asked for our tea order. Our food arrived quickly without any mention of dietary requirements, and when I asked for a child’s menu for my 4-year-old daughter, the staff seemed annoyed but eventually brought it over. Unfortunately, my daughter’s main meal and ice cream dessert were served together, causing the ice cream to melt while she was still eating her main course. The Afternoon Tea itself was underwhelming and missing the advertised ‘homemade sausage rolls’. When I inquired about this, I was informed they had a different item instead but it never arrived. After only 35 minutes, the bill was brought to us with a 12.5% service charge added, despite the unsatisfactory service we had received. I requested to have the service charge removed, which was done without any issues. Overall, we left feeling unimpressed, rushed, and like we were an inconvenience. It was a disappointing experience on what was supposed to be a special Mother’s Day outing.

The service at Jasmine's was fantastic, making our visit truly enjoyable. We were on a golf trip that I happened to win, which set the tone for a great day. I will definitely be returning and hopefully repeating my victory.

Carvery was lovely and they kindly made my daughter a separate meat as she didn’t like the choices on show. The staff was really kind and helpful.
