What Anurup Chattopadhyay doesn't like about Eli's Kitchen:
The pasta was very salty. The pork ribs were not cooked properly and some parts were too sweet. Potatoes were okay. Overall the food experience were not good upto the price. View all feedback.
We stumbled upon Eli's Kitchen tired and hungover, and this quaint little home kitchen did not disappoint. Being a relatively large group, we had an extensive order including beef cutlets, pork chops, Syrian beef fry, prawn curry, prawn and chatti chor (boiled Kerala rice), fish curry, parathas and chicken curry. While everything was delectable, the standouts for us were the beef cutlets and the fish curry. Eli (aka Liz) was such a lovely host, I felt like I was back home with a cool aunt that all the kids love. The desserts we had banoffee pie and mango cheesecake had to be forced down because we were already so full but absolutely could not resist!
We stay in Semmencheri, OMR, and we drive down often enough to Eli's. The food is top notch, especially if you love your pork, prawn (and beef). We always order the pork chops, and prawn fry with Chatti Chor Rice among other things. If you love dogs, Pattu, and now Bonny are added attractions. But you know what's best? Liz/Eli and Abdul. Go in the evening, sit on the dimly lit terrace, listen to the waves, let Eli regale you with her corporate to cafe owner journey, even as she she sneaks out to check on the food, and Abdul serves you with a big broad smile on his face.
Been going here for more than a year now. I can never get bored of this place or the food. Our one and only go to place in Mahabs these days. Come to Elis for TOP quality food great conversations. My personal favourites are pork chops Partha with squid curry Vattapam with chicken stew and Banofee pie
I ate the best prawns of my life at Eli's (and I'm a bengali. Been eating fish for 30 years non stop). Every single dish we tried in our two-day trip was beyond expectations. The flavors, texture, quality of food-all above excellence. What adds that extra flavor is the beautifully designed cafe, the lively ambiance and Eli herself. Hop on if you're in town, or else, you'll definitely miss something extraordinary.
