We had booked for 8 people. We received confirmation of the booking the day before. We arrived and the place was closed for urgent repairs. DEPITE HAVING OUR CONTACT DETAILS THERE WAS NO NOTIFICATION. What abysmal lack of service and courtesy. Never again! View all feedback.

We last ate here about 2 years ago and everything was very good so when some friends chose this restaurant we were really looking forward to the same standard.Unfortunately things seemed to have changed dramatically. For starters the service was very light on. It felt like one staff member was looking after the whole restaurant on a Saturday night. Drink service - we got water straight away but it took a long time for anyone to ask about any other drinks and when the bottle of red was brought to the table it was plonked in the middle and that was that!Table setting - very small paper napkin (would get better at a fast food restaurant) and only one set of cutlery for entrée and mains with no serving cutlery for the antipasto share platter. Food - the entrée platter we had was ok, the sliced leg ham was out of place - maybe they were running short on variety. Main course I had the oven baked chicken breast with chorizo - flavour was ok but just the initial "look" of the dish was a little average to say the least. My partner had the scaloppine al funghi - asked how she wanted it cooked which is a little unusual considering the thickness of the meat. Again nothing wrong with the dish but nothing special. The desert menu consisted of items from the cake cabinet and a few options on the actual menu. We shared the cassata - quite grainy with some coulis squirted over the top.Won't be heading back anytime soon - disappointed.

My partner and I went to Sorelle on a Thursday evening. It was fairly quiet but our food arrived promptly, it was delicious (I had "The Sorelle", the house speciality and my partner had a chicken dish) and the service was friendly. We had a lovely large table - so often in restaurants a table for 2 means being squashed onto a tiny table where there is hardly enough room for the food and drinks to fit onto. There was a minor mistake with our order, but this was immediately rectified.
The place was bright and clean, comparatively but from the coffee to the service everything else was poor. I mean in SA how can you not make proper coffee! The kit is installed it's the staff that are the weak link. From the staff conversation it appears the owners are juggling to many balls so they are dropping them all. The place has potential but they really need to lift their game. Best avoided.
