Called in for breakfast towards the end of my bike ride, and it was good. Can recommend the Potted Breakfast and the Omelette, both good value for money. Coffee was good as well. And while I sat outside and watched the world go by, there was steady chatter from people inside enjoying the unique and quaint fittings, and engaging with the owner. All round good experience. My friend and I enjoyed a visit to the little café.We shared a (huge) pot of tea along and each ordered a serve of Ciabatta bread topped with avocado and fetta cheese (and I added smoked salmon to mine - yum!).The tea was piping hot (and it wasn't a problem that I wanted skim milk - that was brought out with no problem) and the food was delicious. The crockery was old fashioned and delightful - as were the surrounds. We shared a table near the window - bliss with the winter sun shining in on us! There was no rush for us to move off when we hade finished - wonderful to sit and relax. The staff were delightful - friendly, helpful and efficient. The prices were reasonable and there were so many other delights to tempt - yet another reason to visit this café another time.
If I were designing a coffee shop, I would come here for inspiration! White pressed metal ceiling, lacy curtains, light blue walls with relevant decorations, a bookcase, solid wooden chairs and tables: this is what a coffee shop should be like! The café is directly across the road from a parking area, with pedestrian lights to help one cross the road. The café seats about 20 inside and a further dozen by the footpath. It serves breakfasts and lunches and in betweens – which is, of course what I order. My lemon slice is fresh, my coffee carefully made with high froth as requested, and the service is friendly. I would give this place a 5/5 except that the cake selection is rather small. Looking at the menu later, I discover they do serve scones! So, 4.5 / 5, and I’ll be back!
A beautiful and quaint little place my partner and I drop into from time to time after a walk or as a break from shopping. Great tea and coffee and lovely food with friendly service
I had lunch here today with my daughter who lives close by. I found this cafe on the internet and thought it looked like a good place to go for lunch and it was. The cafe is very quaint and there is outside seating as well. Today I had the sausage rolls, followed by scones with Jam and cream. They were delicious and the coffee was nice too. I would definitely come here again if I am in the area.
