As a cyclist who among many others , frequently stopped here for a quick tea/coffee and scone, the prices are pretty shocking in comparison to other venues. £17.20 for 3 teas and 3 scones, where typical charge is around £12.00. Cyclists are in and out fairly quickly and support local venues throughout the year. However this venue is “off the list” which is a pity. Noteworthy details: Too pricey. In the centre of the town easy access to all around local and beyond. Service couldn't fault it. The room was very spacious. I stayed on a Thursday night and directly below my window was a beer garden not sure how I would feel having that room over the weekend. Overall a good experience. The atmosphere was delightful, the carvery was outstanding, and the service was excellent. Nearby, there's a lovely garden perfect for a stroll. The location is very walkable. Overall, I would rate the rooms a 5, the service a 5, and the location a 5. Noteworthy highlights of the hotel include its kid-friendly environment and great value.
