We had dinner at Lafranchi for the first time. It is a very nice grotto with very good food. The tiramisu was also very tasty. We think the prices are reasonable. Parking spaces in front of the house. If you really want a place, you should make a reservation (it was high season). We will be back. View all feedback.
What Martinelli Chantal doesn't like about Grotto Lafranchi:
I had a decidedly bad experience, the cuisine was insufficient. Boiled ribs still white and full of fat, not grilled, canned salad on the same plate with three salad leaves, a quantity of flies.. I sent the dish back saying it was too bad, they pretended nothing happened, no one came to the table. Also expensive and definitely not recommended View all feedback.
Sign on the main street we are marching towards the Grotto! Next sign: Grotto open, continue walking and we stand hungry in front of the Grotto: This sign says CIUSO!!! We thank you for the hospitality
When I asked for dessert they recommended their homemade Tiramisu... because at the second spoonful I felt something strange in my mouth, it was a large piece of GLASS!!.. I think I risked a lot!! And they calmly apologized and BROUGHT me THE BILL!! Even salty!.. I think the least would have been to offer dinner and ask me not to report THE SERIOUS ACCIDENT!.. to avoid hurting myself, it's really better to cross this place off my list!!
Super Polenta trotz Take away sehr lecker. Michele und sein Koch sehr aufgestellt haben uns das wunderschöne Grotto gezeigt. Unbedingt Essen gehen.
Supergemütliches Grotto mit sehr freundlicher Bedienung. Wir sind zufällig beim wandern draufgestossen und haben dort gegessen. Die Plättli waren riesig gross und sehr gut. Der Inhaber war wirklich nett. Er hat uns sogar in seinem Auto mit nach Ascona genommen, da der Bus nur jede Stunde fährt. Supernett! Wir kommen sicherlich wieder.
The place itself looks nice with Pergolas etc. but unfortunately there are a lot of flys around, also kids where playing football in the restaurant shooting balls against the wall etc. All of this would have been fine if the food would have been either good or cheap and fast, in fact we waited 1h for our Risotto and Ravioli, which were very basic, the gorgonzola risotto does not taste at all like gorgonzola and the ravioli came without anything, we paid 60chf (with salat water and housewine) The additional Star is for the housewine 3chf and it was drinkable.
