What Dmp doesn't like about Villa Capri:
We visited the cool bel two years ago and absolutely loved it. However, the quality has significantly declined since then. The pizzas used to be generously sized but now they are much smaller. They used to provide a jar of water without asking, but now they only give you a glass. Additionally, they now charge for bread that was previously complimentary. What a gem! This restaurant truly exceeds all expectations. The dining experience here ranks as one of the best Italian meals I have ever enjoyed. The freshly homemade bread served at the start of the meal is abundant and delicious. The gazpacho without cheese is exceptional and ranks as one of the best I've ever had. The option to make several types of pizzas vegan was a pleasant surprise, and the crust practically melts in your mouth. The vegan pesto is a fantastic alternative for cheese, perfect for those who prefer not to have substitutes. The service is top-notch, some of the best I have encountered in a while - attentive, polite, and friendly. It is clear that everyone working here loves what they do. What's more, for those, like myself, who are tired of constant exposure to smoking at outdoor cafes in Madrid, Villa Capri is a breath of fresh air - they are smoke-free even outside! You won't be disappointed! (Updated from the previous review on July 3, 2021)
The ambiance of the restaurant is delightful and the food is of high quality. However, there are very limited options for vegans. The only main dish available to me was the marinara, which was incredibly fresh and delicious. We also ordered the artichokes, but had to request for the cream to be removed and served on the side for my friends. The only clearly vegan options were the bread, olives, and marinara. The menu is supposedly updated monthly, but in the 5 months that I checked, it remained the same. It seems that there is room for improvement, especially considering the popularity of the restaurant for its atmosphere and decor. Hopefully, the Big Mama group will address this issue at all of their establishments.
What a gem! This restaurant truly exceeds expectations in every way. The food is some of the best Italian cuisine I have ever tasted. The freshly homemade bread is served generously, and the gazpacho without cheese is exceptional. The pizza, including vegan options, is light and has a melt-in-your-mouth crust. The vegan pesto is a great alternative for cheese lovers. The service is outstanding, with attentive and friendly staff who genuinely enjoy their work. Villa Capri stands out for its no-smoking policy, even outdoors, making it a great choice for those seeking a smoke-free environment. You will not be disappointed dining here!
