I probably shouldn't have eaten... read more Lovely quiet modest restaurant. Just what I was looking for. All the staff made me feel very welcome. The price was reasonable. I probably shouldn't have eaten so much, but it was too tasty to stop. The tarka dahl was just great. Some of the best food I've had in Madrid and one of the best restaurant experiences generally. They spoke perfectly fluent English too, which helped. They even offered me a free drink afterwards. Definitely a place I'd recommend and return to.

I was... read more I have missed Indian food after having been in italia for ten days and spain for 5. shapla was a solid experience and took care of the Indian food search. I was not sure what to expect, but the reviews were good enough to try. there are many different possibilities in the lavapiés neighbourhood. we wanted to go there from the beginning, but they definitely try to sell them to eat there. the restaurant was quite empty, but who knows with people in Spain, when they eat. the vegetarian meal at 8€ was much for a drink, appetizer, main dish, naan and dessert. I recommend the dal, masala and curry. this will not be her best Indian meal of her life, but it will satisfy her if they have eaten a lot of tapas. I cannot compare with another Indian restaurant in madrid, but with the low price it is a very small risk!
