We came to this restaurant with a group of twelve friends and fellow travelers. We were told the food was delicious and we were not disappointed! In fact, the food was better than we could have imagined. I ordered artichokes which were out of this world perfectly roasted and seasoned topped with just right cooked eggs. The entree was pasta with prawns; I couldn't discern all the ingredients in the sauce, but the combination was absolutely delicious. And the fig ice cream for dessert was unlike anything I had tasted and left me wanting more. My husband, who is a vegetarian, ordered the special leeks dish and proclaimed it was the best food he had during our three week trip in Spain. The service was warm and attentive and appropriately suggested entrees to try. Our only disappointment? The restaurant wasn't open on the Monday we returned to Madrid, so we could only eat at LaVeronica one time! I heartily recommend this restaurant to everyone!
Gordon Ramsay should pick some lessons from the lady in the kitchen! Absolutely stunning food and service!
Six of us had lunch and our experiences were mixed. Some dishes were very good and some a bit disappointing. The space is funky and fun and the staff nice.
Leveronica is a lovely place for a relaxing lunch with your friend. It is nested in the lovely Calle Moratin, where there are so many interesting shops by local designers and craftmen. I had a really delicious seafood rice (not paella, but the rice taste heavenly good! and they have a great menu to choose. The owner is such a friendly lady and we had such a good chat. I would recommend people to check it out!
We happened upon this restaurant whilst looking for somewhere to have lunch in Madrid and were attracted by the good choices available for vegetarians on their menú del dia (which is unusual in Spain). My husband is vegetarian and I am not, but the veggie dishes sounded so good that I ordered them too. We started with a refreshing salad of different types of tomato, pickled onions, capers and black olives. The bread served with it was good quality and very fresh. Our main course was roast leek on a bed of pisto with quails eggs, unusual and very tasty indeed. Desserts of dark chocolate tart with raspberries and cheesecake with toffee sauce and cream (we paid a small supplement for these) were equally good. A glass of wine and americano coffee were both included in the menú del dia price of €15.70. Service was very good and the restaurant is nicely decorated. We will definitely come back on future visits to Madrid, wish we had found it earlier.
