Label Bar is a funky, bohemian Anarchist Bar on a sleepy street in La Latina. The prices are desperately affordable, and the homemade food is cooked fresh, serving interesting versions of Spanish staples. The atmosphere is surreal. The lovely owner dances around to Flogging Molly as she prepares food. The local barflies were friendly, giving us stickers of Spanish Anarchists and sharing the history of Lucio Urtubia. It’s certainly a show before the meal. We ordered two dishes. Our total was 8.50. We ordered Choripapas. The sweet potato-based chorizo is rustic, with lumps of sweet potatoes found throughout, served with halved baked potatoes with a side of Mayo. We also ordered Lentil Falafel, fried to perfection, and served with mayo. If anything, order the Lentil Falafel. It delivers a tried-and-true favorite with a sly twist. Label Bar is for the brave. It’s an experience—start to finish—with an extremely low price for admission. Do not expect the conventions of restaurant dining to be applied here. It lives by its own rules and delivers on its own time. Its Anarchy.
I’m giving this spot 5 stars because it seemed really really cool. Off the beaten path very unique. I however did not eat or drink here. The place is minuscule I doubt more than 15 people would fit inside. I don’t think anyone there speaks much, if any English. The writing in the wall was all in Spanish. I stood in the doorway for several minutes nobody addressed me. Meanwhile several people entered who were greeted by name. Again I give 5 stars because I’m not ignorant enough to think the world needs to cater to my needs the spot genuinely seemed amazing with great vibes. I do wish there was a spot like this in my neighborhood. If you are a more outgoing person than I speak Spanish I’d expect you’d have an excellent time here. But understand what you’re getting into.
The person who cooked and wore the bar was very close. a human treatment that is already difficult to find. historical space and simple and delicious home cooking.
I give this spot 5 stars because it seemed really cool. Off the beaten path very unique. I didn't eat or drink here. The place is tiny, I doubt that more than 15 people would fit inside. I don't think anyone there speaks a lot if any English. Writing in the wall was all in Spanish. I stood in the door for a few minutes. In the meantime, several people who were greeted with names entered. Again I give 5 stars because I am not ignorant enough to think that the world respects my needs, the spot seemed really amazing with big vibes. I wish there was such a place in my neighborhood. If you are an outgoing person when I speak Spanish, I would expect you to have an excellent time here. But understand what you're getting in.
