Today, 13/03/22, for the entire family of the peasant, has begun a new stage, uninterruptedly opened since 1983, except for the fat pandemic, has launched the closure. Day of mixed feelings, happiness for having arrived here, because the owners of have won to pass to the next stage of so life, nostalgia and selfish sadness that tomorrow we will no longer be able to go through there. we stayed with the great moments there lived and with the experiences, our and told, we enjoyed! A huge hug for the whole country!
As always of first quality, excellent service. all the spectacular food.
We were visiting some of the many pubs, bars and restaurants around the wonderful Chamberi neighbourhood when we decided to drop into here for a quick drink and what a great find. This is an authentic traditional tavern,a long serving counter with hams hanging from hooks over the bar, great decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options spread throughout this tavern,it's a cool place and one I am so glad we found. We were here on a Wednesday afternoon and this place was busy with a great atmosphere ,we decided to have a vermouth each and these were served in excellent condition, we just chilled out and took in the great bar we were in, our vermouths were accompanied with a tapa meal, they sent us over fried fish and these were delicious and went so well with our vermouths. This is as authentic as it gets ,it's a proper locals bar and a really good place . We moved on after our delicious vermouths and for a first time visit we were very impressed with this great bar. El Paisano is really easy to locate on Calle De Alburquerque in the Chamberi neighbourhood . A great bar and well worth checking out.
I live in Madrid and El Paisano is like a second home for me a my friends. Good prices, good food, nothing fancy but a truly Spanish tapas bar doesnt have to be anyway. It's really sad to see all these expensive places popping up the city where foreign visitors think they are having a local experience and most of the times they are spending a fortune in exchange of garbage food. I can´t recommend El Paisano enough if you want to eat well at a reasonable price in a positive environment, with an interesting mix of ages and people.
We had a lovely dinner here. The suckling pig was not too fatty and the steak was done perfectly. The restaurant opens about half an hour later than the rest of the business, so while you wait you can sit in the bar and snack on a plate of nibbles. Nice staff too.
