We went in because we were very hungry and craving pizza. Otherwise, it should have been full around 8 pm, but it was completely empty. It's a place that's been left unattended. When we first entered, they came to greet us about two minutes later. However, the pizza, the six-cheese pizza, and the carbonara were fantastic. We've had bad food in really good places. I think this place could be much better. When we were leaving, the staff were sitting at the tables laughing.
A very good Italian food restaurant, we orders the burrata as a starter and it was delicious the pesto sauce was fresh and juicy with a hot bread pieces. The fruitti do Marie was excellent and the red sauce was fresh as well. The Risotto con pollo was splendid and right on point. The waiter was very friendly and attentive, he also spoke English very well. Highly recommended if you are looking for an Italian place in gran via
Firstly the service, or lack of it at this restaurant is appalling. The young lady who was the waitress just totally ignored you until she was ready to serve you. Secondly unless you spoke Spanish you had a great deal of trouble making yourself understood once you did get served. I understand we are in their country but having been in Spain and Portgual for over 6 weeks found this rude and frustrating as we had not come across this before everyone had been very pleasant and helpful. Obviously they do not care as they do not have to worry about people coming back to dine there and the position of their restaurant means they will have lots of passing diners. Thirdly, the food was very unappetising. It was cold and lacked taste. Only positive I could give them was it was not overpriced. It was so disappointing as we were staying in Madrid for over a week and if our experience had been more positive we would have been back there, but no way after our treatment. I love a good Italian meal which we did not get at this restaurant. As they say don't judge a book by its cover, outside looks good but that is where it ends.
We didn't have a reservation for the evening so we decided to go to Dibocca as it was close to the hotel and from the outside the place looked clean and fairly nice. The service itself wasn't to bad, if you don't speak Spanish you may need to repeat yourself a few times to make sure the order is correct. 3 mains Steak dish Never asked how my guest wanted the steak cooking, it turned up looking very drab with french fries. Guest left most of the steak as it wasn't hot and was very fatty. Salmon pasta dish Guest left the entire meal, it was cold and had a really off putting smell. Normally would of complained but it was late and we wanted to pay and leave. The white sauce no idea what that was and they advertised fresh pasta very debatable. Caesar Salad Packet bought chicken cold, with tinned anchovies the sauce the bucket load of sauce they had on either to cover the cheap ingredients was appalling, again meal left. I don't t the restaurant particulary cares that they serve crappy food as they will always attract customers due to the restaurants location. I look forward to seeing Gordon Ramsey ripping them to shreds. Thanks again for a crappy meal.
