Although the main dishes were fine, they charged 8 Euros for a small Pizco Sour, nice but outrageously overpriced. When we complained about the price, the situation was not resolved to our satisfaction. What can we say about the service? It's fine if you like being ignored. The Pollo or Lomo Salteado were good but not enough to compensate the unpleasant experience. Oh by the way, later we all got sick from the overpriced drinks.
We booked through The Fork, and were seated promptly at 10:30pm. The service was quick and friendly, almost too quick, to the the point of feeling rushed. One of the cocktails (pisco with ginger ale, orange bitters and lime wasn’t prepared as listed, was undrinkable), and so returned for a proper Pisco sour. The chicken with ají sauce was good, as was the meat stuffed potato. The ceviche we ordered had a foreign hair in it, and also was returned, but at that point, we decided to just take the check, pay and leave. Quite unfortunate as the reviews were great.
We had the “cabrito norteño” (outstanding sauce) and tarta de maracuya (outstanding passion fruit taste). My wife enjoyed her causa limeña and papa rellena. My tamal chinchano was okay. Good, friendly and fast service. Reasonable mid range prices.
During our three days in Madrid, we had lunch here twice. There are two reasons for this. Firstly, for a very reasonable price you get a wide choice of starters, ample choice of mains, a beverage and a pudding. Secondly, my girlfriend is from Peru and she loved the food. She says it's better than what you'd find in many traditional restaurants in Peru. I do have two small observation. The ceviche was amazing on our first visit but tasted a little bit less fresh the second time. The first time, we also got a huge plate of lomo saltado. The second time, I only got a bit more than half of that portion.
This restaurant is on my must visit again list. We have been here on every visit to Madrid and have never been disappointed. usually we have been seated downstairs, which is more comfortable in hot weather and has quite striking artwork on the wall. Ceviche is a big favourite of ours but all dishes that we 've tried have been enjoyable. The only niggle is that they serve water by the glass and it seems impossible to get a jug. Pricing for the quality produced is very reasonable.
