We had some confusion over the menu and whether the chef would come out or not depending on whether we ordered the “package” meal or not (4 starters and a main, or 6 starters and a main). The 3 of us chose the 4 starter option. Then we sat… a long time. Chef did come to visit. We selected various choices. Then we waited. Over the evening, the courses came out very slowly. The food was good. The meat i had as my main was prepared basically rare. Tasty, but tough to cut and chew. Didn’t want to try to fix it as communication was difficult and it was already so late! Wine was good. The dessert was wonderful. We did not leave til around 1am. We were simply too exhausted to e joy. Even getting the bill to pay took forever. I wouldn’t go back. But others might have a good experience.

The chef came to our table to find out our... read more This was recommended by a friend who lives in Madrid. It didn’t look much from the outside but what an amazing meal. The chef came to our table to find out our likes and dislikes and went away and produced 5 courses starting with a mixed smoked meat and fish platter which was so tasty and tender. A mushroom dish followed. We had such a good venison dish as our main followed by a chocolate dessert sharing platter which we could have eaten again and then various individual desserts. Excellent wine selection and the food was so so good so highly recommend this place. A must place to eat when visiting Madrid. So glad we went. Our Spanish isn’t great and no menu so not only was the food amazing it was a surprise as well.

Unfortunately the service can not compensate for the lacking good ex... read more The service in this restaurant was very good and we felt attended to during our whole meal. Unfortunately the service can not compensate for the lacking good experience of the food. We were expecting a wine package that would fit with all the dishes as that was what we ordered but the same red wine (house wine) was served during the whole meal. One of the dishes were thin slices of beef with mashed potatoes, but the beef wasn’t tender at all and was almost impossible to chew. When I mentioned this to the staff there were no apologies but instead were asked if we wanted dessert. The lemon sorbet was very nice so that I would recommend. For a good food and service experience I would go somewhere else.
