Initially, we were worried that Takumi had permanently closed. However, we soon discovered that they had relocated to a new spot just around the corner and rebranded as Niji Asian Cuisine. The new venue is much larger and beautifully decorated. The food remains just as delicious as we remembered from Takumi! Many of the familiar staff are still there too! A sweet little restaurant. Fresh fish, good food, and they care.
Good atmosphere. Mediocre sushi. It was bland and ingredients didn't taste fresh.
While passing through Madison, and upon a recommendation from a close friend, we stopped into Takumi Japanese Restaurant. I ordered the Hibachi Shrimp with Vegetables. My Daughter had the California Sushi Rolls, with a House Salad. Everything was absolutely delicious prepared perfectly. If you have a Gluten Allergy, the staff here go the extra mile to insure you don't get anything with Gluten. Our wonderful server was Ika. She was very polite, professional and just a Sweetie. We will be back!

I was here on the 15th for my 1st time. Takumi was recommended by Viva, someone I know. I absolutely love this place. Hands down the best sushi in not only Madison but the state. I love the white dragon roll, I'd say it's my favorite here. The sushi is fresh like it should be. Takumi is a must try if you've never been there. I'll definitely be back. Whether I'm dining in or takeout.
