Great experience here yesterday. We arrived as soon as it opened for lunch. The new owner was wonderful. We had pizza and I asked her recommendation...she suggested the grandma pizza which was outstanding. My son had pepperoni. Delicious! Food and hospitality were fantastic! View all feedback.
What Chuck Mound doesn't like about Nicky's Firehouse Italian Pizzeria:
I really enjoyed the decor of this Pizzeria. Had a great vibe with the workers who were very friendly and willing to serve at a high level. I went with the Margherita Slice which was average 3.5 for Morris County based on the ratings for the Pizza Hunters App. The Crust was tasty and was the highlight of the slice. They used very thin slices of mozzarella and with little to non basil. Not much olive oil or sauce was... View all feedback.
Nicky?s was truly impressive. Their cauliflower crust pizza has wicked flavor, it?s crispy, and it?s gluten free! Wouldn?t have known it was a GF crust. Snagged some pictures of the rice balls those absolutely delicious and the sauce is killer. Chef?s kiss
What a wonderful experience!! If you are looking to book a private party Nicky?s Firehouse is your spot! The owners, Joe and Amanda are a pleasure to work with. They help you curate a delicious menu and are happy to accommodate your individualized needs. It was a perfect spot for my son?s Baptism. It is causal for children with a great back room and has beautiful brick accents that make it warm and inviting. The entire staff was friendly and Jeremy, the general manager was flexible when we had a food allergy arise and needed a separate dish. Everything from the rice balls, pizza, fresh pastas and desserts are delicious! It is our new go to spot for lunch and dinner.
This is my go-to spot!! Whatever you want, whether it?s a quick slice or a sit-down dinner with friends and family, Nicky?s is always the smart choice! I try something different every time I go there with my family and have yet to try something that I didn?t love. All of the appetizers are delicious but our personal favorites are the Rice Balls and Fried Zucchini. All of the pasta is made fresh in-house and is incredible. The Rigatoni Bolognese is a must try! All-in-all, no matter what you order, you won?t be disappointed. As someone who grew up eating homemade, authentic Italian food, It doesn?t get much better than this! From a customer service standpoint, the new owners, Joe and Amanda, completely turned this place around from what it used to be. Joe is an extremely knowledgeable chef and restauranteur with experience coming from one of, if not the best Italian restaurants in NYC, ?Carmine?s?. The family feeling you get in Nicky?s is unmatchable, and is highlighted by Joe?s fiancée, Amanda, who you would think was your own cousin by the way she welcomes you in to their place and makes sure you?re treated like a VIP. If you haven?t tried Nicky?s yet, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!?!
I have been to NICKYS in Madison NJ on 2 occasions. The place is modeled after a fire station and is a very cute building. However, the Italian food is mediocre, and over salted. Once, we were invited for a birthday party and for a party of 6, the waiter kept getting the orders confused. Forgot our salads but charged us anyway, etc. Our second visit was with out of town friends and we were all disappointed. The portions are small for the price, the tomato sauce is bitter, the food has no Italian style whatsoever. Nicky's in Madison seems like it is more for a younger crowd like college kids, that don't know how authentic Italian food should taste.
Definitely one of the nest pizza places I have ever been. Great service and everyone was so welcoming. I will definitely be going back again and again. Great family restaurant
