I don't understand all the bad reviews here. I've been to this bar many times traveling in and out of Madison over the years, and always received good service and decent food. Yes the prices are high for what you get, but it's an airport. Shouldn't be that surprising. Yes the bartenders are quick to give you the check, but again it's an airport. What Jordan Elke doesn't like about Mad Town Gastropub:
Madison airport food and service has fallen so far since they picked a new service provider (bye bye local ingredients and beer) and redid the airport. Used to have two decent sit down restaurants, and now there's one sad generic gastropub. The menu is so simple it's childish, and the sandwiches are not that good. My upgraded salad was soggy. The bar was out of several spirits and many draft beers. Service was lukewa... View all feedback.

We had a bit of a delay due to weather and choose to get food before a long day of travel. Found out it was a torey miller restaurant which made us happy. His places have always been enjoyable place to eat. We had a hamburger, with some sort of light ranch dressing. Hot and great. We also had the chicken club with aged chedder, crispy bacon, avacado tomato and lettuce. The chicken was cooked great. Whole sandwich was wonderful. We also both had a side salad. Good but iceberg lettuce. Service lady started out grumpy and coughed on my wife. But she got happier and ended up be very good. Airport prices. $55 for 2 sanwiches and 2 salads.
I thought this place was great. Friendly bartender and good beers. I would definitely stop by here again.
I was not helped or acknowledged when I sat down so after about 5 10 minutes I asked the server if I could go ahead and order he curtly said he needed to enter his one order in first before being able to help me (didn 't know servers could only take one order at a time? . When he came over, he just opened his book and said alright... to himself and stared at me without asking if I was ready or if he could help me or anything. I uncomfortably gave him my food order (2 appetizers to try and he asked BOTH? . Yes, both. The other reviews that talk about the poor service and restaurant closing early consistently without adjusting their hours are all true. I have time stamps on my photos. Their hours were until 7pm.At 5:17, my server hand signaled 5 4 5 to the other servers (to signal that they would close early at 5:45 and turned the restaurant sign around. At 5:23, my server put out ropes and turned the menu sign around to deter customers. At 5:35, my server started flipping chairs on all the tables and turning customers away. He very aggressively would tell them that they were closing in 10 minutes and that they needed to order now and take food to go if they wanted to eat. They dimmed the lights on us as well. After finally getting my food, a friend came to join me and since they did not want to take orders and were closing , she just shared what I already had on the table. We ate for a few minutes before they turned the lights off on us. Our server was on his phone behind my friend at the long table by the flipped chairs, shaking his leg anxiously for us to leave. He would let out a big sign and walk around again before coming back to lean on another counter. We felt uncomfortable, and the lights were off, so we just got up and left before we finished our food. The cheese curds were burnt and hard, and the pretzel bites were oily pretzel sticks with hardened cheese for dipping (though I couldn 't dip anything into it .Incredibly unprofessional and so rude. I cannot believe how the restaurant staff were acting and treating their customers.
Burger was ok a bit dry, service was not great, Jeff was very rude when we asked for a menu. We wanted to just turn around and leave. Didn't get the tiny cup of coleslaw that was included in the meal, had to ask for it.
