Los Compadres - Madison
Los Compadres
Description
Diners at this restaurant report a blend of opinions, featuring mediocre food and inflated prices that have left many disappointed. Service varies, with some describing a lackluster experience, particularly during late hours when staff seem less attentive. Noise levels can be excessive, impacting the overall dining atmosphere. However, there are positive highlights, such as delectable margaritas, generous portions of birria tacos, and charming decor, complemented by friendly service in some instances. Though some dishes like the California burrito receive high praise, overall inconsistency has raised concerns about the restaurant's declining quality.

This place just isn’t as good as it used to be. Even after using inflation as an excuse, the prices are insane. I’d expect to pay $16+ at a place in Mentor or downtown Cleveland, but out here in Madtown it’s just robbery. I remember when dinners were $12 and some lunch specials were $5, though again, that was like 10 years ago. The food was decent but not as flavorful as it used to be. You can tell the good cooks have left as this place used to be packed on a Saturday night, and is now a ghost town. It’s sad.

I am going to get right to the point: the food was not great. We ordered through DoorDash. We are very disappointed after paying $56 for two very bland meals. We did not get a bang for our buck. First, I 'm not sure who is at fault, but the salsa exploded all over the bag and went all over our counter. Not great take-out packaging. I had the Birria Taco Meal. I was so excited to try it, however, it did not live up to my expectations. The dish was very bland and did not have much flavor. I had to add quite a bit of salt at home. My boyfriend had the Chimichangas. He said he 's definitely had better and they were not the greatest. We took the chance on Compadres for the first time, however, I think we will be sticking with El Pueblo Real and Margarita King in Geneva. Better prices, better food.
