We brought some friends who had never been here before, and they absolutely loved the food. We also returned with a few people who came back because they enjoyed it so much. We still have our favorite Bolognese dish here. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Lallegria:
It took two hours for our order to arrive! The slow service was completely unacceptable, and we felt there was no consideration for our time. We will not be returning. View all feedback.
On a positive note, the bread was absolutely delicious! We had a nice assortment, and I had to restrain myself to avoid filling up too soon. My friend ordered a charcuterie board, which was wonderful. For our meals, my friend had the bolognese while I opted for the chicken marsala—both were savory and delicious. I also tried polenta for the first time, and it was surprisingly good; I could have easily kept eating it! Overall, everything was fantastic. The prices were a bit high for my budget, but I was grateful to be treated since it's just down the street. And I have to mention the tiramisu—it was incredible! We even took some to go!
Lovely atmosphere and great food. Tremendous menu so much to choose from. The staff is friendly and professional. Food is beautifully presented. We had our wedding luncheon here a few years ago and we will continue to return.
I don't understand the low stars on a lot of these reviews. The guy I dated in my late teens used to bring me here every Valentine's Day, occasional dates, and it was his family's go-to spot for parties. I have eaten enjoyed several different dishes here, but absolutely fell in love with the Aragosta specialta della casa.. Lobster chunks in a cognac sauce.. Omg. I had mentioned it to my bff forever ago and since we recently ventured out of friend zone territory, he chose this place for our first official date. It has been over 15 years since I've had my lobster special, and to be honest I was worried about having it again. Tastes change, restaurants change, I was nervous. Omg omg omg. It's still delicious as ever, and I am so glad I took the risk of ruining precious food memories, because now I have more to sit and drool over. He had some sort of huge slab of red meat special, I dunno, I didn't really pay attention. I did have a taste and it was excellent, but I was focused mainly on my food. Seriously good stuff. This was sitting in my unfinished for a year so I hope it's still good :
I opted for the broccoli rabe and sausage agnolotti, which combines three of my favorite ingredients. I was excited to try it. However, when the dish arrived, I was surprised by the size of the pasta—each piece was roughly the size of a fist. Typically, agnolotti is smaller, resembling ravioli or large tortellini. The filling was decent, but the sauce lacked flavor altogether. I even savored it with some bread to double-check, but it was poorly seasoned. Unfortunately, our experience didn't improve with the veal saltimbocca either. Given that it features inherently salty ingredients like the meat and prosciutto, it was odd that we could hardly taste any salt at all. The spinach was bland, and the sauce was similarly underwhelming. On a positive note, the veal was cooked well and could be easily cut with a fork. Perhaps it was an off night, as the restaurant was relatively busy for a Tuesday dinner service, but overall, our meal earned a disappointing 2 stars.
While the food was absolutely delicious, the service left much to be desired. Our waitress never once checked in on us throughout the meal. If it hadn't been for the kind gentleman clearing the tables who inquired about our experience, we might not have been asked at all. I finished my drink shortly after the appetizer, and our waitress failed to acknowledge my empty glass, leaving me with nothing but water during my meal. She passed our table at least six times without any acknowledgment, and when the evening came to a close, she didn’t ask how everything was; instead, she simply wanted to know if we wanted anything else. It's unfortunate, as the quality of the food at this restaurant is exceptional. However, they certainly need to improve their wait staff or provide better training, as the service detracted significantly from the overall experience.
