Really incredible little French spot on west side. The croque monsieur is fantastic, the Americano is dark and strong, and the croissants are flaky and delicious. Top notch breakfast. View all feedback.
What Erik Ellenberger doesn't like about La Baguette:
The owner is a real piece of work and needs some serious attention to his customer service or there will be no customers soon… He kicked me out of his restaurant because I said the French onion soup was watered down with little to no flavor other than hot water and onions, practically inedible. The cappuccino I ordered was also watered down as he could cover it with the frothy milk I assume. I understand times are to... View all feedback.
The name is spot on, as this place has the most delicious baguette I have ever had in my entire life by a LONG shot. They also have sandwiches and other pastries, all of which I’ve been extremely impressed with. Overall a great cafe/bakery run by great people!
Eric 's review below is spot on. Do not believe any of the reviews of 4+ stars. The $9.00 Ham and cheese consisted of one skinny piece of meat, and two skinny pieces of cheese $2.00 worth of ingredients). No lettuce or tomato made this sandwich so dry, I could hardly choke it down. This so called Baguette was NOT anything authentic. Dry insides, soggy crust, so tough, my jaw could hardly chew. I scraped the insides over to one half, which didn 't help much, and left the rest of the bread. I wish I took a picture of the dense bread, to reveal how terrible it was. The inscription on the window says, Authentic French Bakery far from the truth. Don 't waste your money or time. Nothing authentic about this place. If you 've ever had a 'real ' baguette, like in France) you will know what I 'm talking about. Grocery stores make a better Baguette!
Incredibly genuine, genuine French owners with deliciously divine délectables. Would go there daily if I lived in the area. A “must” if you are anywhere near the area and you appreciate authentic French bakery. Um um good!
Finally found a real French bakery in Madison, everything on the menu is on point, totally worth the drive every time from Madison.Prices are also really good for the quality you receive, very nice couple who own it.Hidden gem.
The place to go if you ever want good pastries or bread. Need to make it back for breakfast sometime as the to order food always looks amazing.
