Visited for the first time on a Sunday night. Cute small little shop. I went with the fun dip cupcake.. My daughter went with the lemon one and my other got the candy kiss one I believe it was called. Prices are high and kinda spendy for the size of the cupcakes but to be expected when going to these type of places and we wanted to treat ourselves lol.. Our cupcakes were very yummy delicious! We will be back for more... View all feedback.
What Joy doesn't like about Gigi's Cupcakes:
im expecting and blindly took the results of my baby’s gender to have them put either pink or blue filling inside the 2 cupcakes i ordered. the day of pick up we received the cupcakes in a box that had blue dye on the outside.. kinda disappointing seeing that first hand. overall we were still excited and the cupcakes were good. just wanted to share so that this doesn’t happen to anyone else. Ordered 4 cupcakes and they were all beautifully decorated. Very moist and soft cakes with abundant frosting. For the price I expected more. They are just simple subtle flavors with overly sweet frosting. It’s nice as a one time experience but I don’t see myself craving their cupcakes.
Overall negative experience. Nobody answers the phone. No replies to my emails. We finally decided to visit their Hilldale store to custom order a set of 12 cupcakes for my daughter’s graduation. Charged us $70 for the mess that you see here. We took extra care with these cupcakes when driving back home (made sure it didn't move about, drove carefully, etc. . Imagine going home with your sealed box of custom “premium” cupcakes, excited to deliver them to your daughter or son for their college graduation and seeing this. I had to “fix” the cupcakes that I just paid $70 for. I could’ve gone to the local grocery store and purchased a more presentable set of cupcakes for a steep discount. If you want custom cupcakes or cakes, do yourself a favor and research the other bakery shops around Madison that are fantastic and will take care of their customers.
So delicious. Sometimes these fancy cupcakes taste like nothing but sugar but these are more subtle in sweetness, and the flavors are fun and tasty. Rarely do you get a strawberry or raspberry anything that tastes like the actual fruit and these do not disappoint. Bummed we couldn’t get the flavors of macarons we wanted but the ones we did have were so flavorful, outside was crisp and when chewed they were almost like a fudge. And the cheesecakes we do yummy too, loves the caramel frosting on the turtle one.
Tasty dessert cupcakes. Premium prices typically with heavy (maybe too much for some) frosting. Big thumbs up for their scarlet chocolate cupcake (red velvet chocolate) not a typical madison treat. This place is best for a few cup cakes too expensive for a dozen.
