Downtown Grill easily tops the list of places to eat while you 're in town. They offer incredible food paired with great service. Their General Manager even helped me arrange to have a bouquet of flowers set on the table along with a fine bottle of wine he recommended; waiting at our table upon arriving for a reservation for my wife 's birthday. I was very grateful that they were willing to go above and beyond to mak... View all feedback.
What OpenTable Diner doesn't like about Downtown Grill:
Our server was the best we’ve ever had here. I wish I knew her name but black woman that waited on our table was absolutely phenomenal. She should be in charge of all training because I have eaten here a few times where the service was kind of missed and it Negatively affected our meal. she’s made up for that experience tenfold and made our dining an absolutely enjoyable experience. Everyone on wait staff should be l... View all feedback.
The service was the best I had in a long time and the food was very good. Everything was made perfectly from my drink to the ducks and secondary dishes. The atmosphere was also beautiful. This place could be a nice appointment or somewhere you could get a drink while in town for work. I definitely go back.
I am a very cultured person from southern GA and this is the first time I ever felt so offended I got up and left before eating. This environment did not feel people of color friendly. The owner had the waiter come warn us the price of our top shelf drinks was $38 per cocktail, before he poured. The way she stuttered through the delivery to two young poc made me cringe. I couldn't spend a dollar when I knew we ordered two market priced entrees! Not once did we ask the price of anything, so why did he have her come warn us of the price of some don julio?
One of the higher priced fine dining places in Macon. My medium steak came more medium well the medium, but still tasted good. I really liked the broccoli it was seasoned and cooked just how I like it, still just a slight crisp to it. Would have been nice to have two sprigs instead of the one they give you. I thought the grit soufflé waffle with shrimp was very tasty. Service was a bit slow, but thats becoming the norm with Covid it seems. It would also be nice if they could move the cigar lounge to upstairs instead of right when you enter. All in all a good experience. Ill be back for sure.
A really great experience. Downtown Grill has a proverbial mood. Located in a alley, enter the restaurant through its cigar bar. The service was exemplary. I had fillet with grilled Sea Scallops. Both were perfectly cooked. The buttons mushrooms and the cheeses souffle were delicious. I finished my meal with a chocolate chip bread pudding drizzled peanut butter Bourbon. It was amazing.
Hard to find? Hidden in a alley, looks like a lawn is a great restaurant and bar. The roasted artichoke starter is not a crispy return, but bathed in an interesting sauce. The duck was boiled exactly like the file. The pages are remarkable: cheese, mushrooms and spinach. The bartender is not only an experienced blendologist, but knows the secrets of food preparation he shared with me. We will route through Macon whenever possible to eat here.
