The owner of the restaurant is extremely courteous, professional, and polite. A few weeks ago, I ordered from their Sunday soul food menu for my mom, but unfortunately, the food sells out quickly because it is so delicious. View all feedback.
What Icy E doesn't like about Bone Apple Tea:
It's a hit and miss to me. Some of the food does taste bland and has too much going on. The parsley all over everything I can definitely do without. The thing that turned me off is when I saw the guy preparing the food in his slide sandals and boxers. I understand that it gets hot in the kitchen but this is a professional job. View all feedback.

Usually the food is ok, I’ve had some issues but I was hungry today so I got some country fried wings but the chicken was pretty burnt , upon eating it I kept smelling it and it was spoiled like rotten as if they knew it was rotten and extra fried it to hide the fact. I don’t believe I’ll ever frequent them again
The steak was served cold and dry, the lemonade lacked flavor, and the shrimp tasted overwhelmingly of Cajun seasoning without any other depth of flavor.
I am usually reluctant to leave reviews for food places because it always seems to be hit or miss. I leave a good review after the first time and then, after the second time I usually regret it. That said, I 've been to Bone Apple Tea a couple of times. Usually on the weekend. Both times I went there, the food was hot and the food was pretty good. I had the Bayou Pasta on one trip and the 4 Piece Fried Chicken Dinner w/sides of Potato Salad and Collard Greens and the Pineapple Lemonade and a Watermelon Lemonade on another trip. When I went, the food was hot and freshly prepared, which I like. I don 't like food that has CLEARLY not been made fresh and is not hot when it is delivered to me. I had to wait a little while. But if the end result is fresh food brought to me hot, I can tolerate that. The Bayou Pasta was very good. It was hot and spicy. So, if you like Louisiana style gumbo (this was not gumbo) with it 's spicy taste and mix of shrimp, crawfish, sausage, etc., this was pretty good. The only thing I didn 't like is the container it came in. I 'd rather have a disposable bowl-like container instead of a styrofoam, compartmentalized container because the liquid from that container overflowed and ran into the plastic bag when the bag was tilted as I carried it. This type of mix needs a cup-like/bowl-like container with a lid to keep liquid from escaping if the container is tilted slightly or not-so-slightly. Other than that, it was good. The fried chicken dinner was also good. Hot and not saturated with grease. That means it was cooked at the right temperature. A lost art in the fried chicken world. I wish the pieces were a little bigger. They gave me a leg, wing, breast, and thigh. But taste-wise, it was good. The potato salad was ok too. I could tell it was fresh. The only food item I had a problem with was the collard greens. They were too salty and greasy for me. The pineapple lemonade and watermelon lemonade were ok. I didn 't detect that real lemon and pineapple and watermelon were used in them. As I said, the food was hot and pretty good when I went the few times I did. I hope they continue to have this type of quality so they can be successful. They 'll probably need a bigger staff to get orders out faster, but it looks like a small, family operation that will probably stay that way. My advice ... Get better on the customer service side of the business. Continue cranking out fresh, hot food even if it causes a bit of a wait. Put less salt and grease type seasoning in the greens. Maybe make some salt packs available for those who like their greens salty. Make the lemonade using REAL lemons and REAL pineapple juice and REAL watermelon juice. You do that, you 'll need to hire more people because you 'll probably get more business than you can handle right now.
The food I ordered today was bland and disappointing. I was surprised because my daughter had purchased it from this restaurant for me. The turkey wings lacked flavor, the dressing was watery, and the macaroni and cheese was subpar. I will not be coming back to this establishment. I wish them better luck in the future, but unfortunately, this experience was a complete miss for me. This soul food restaurant missed the mark on the soulful aspect of the cuisine. It's not really soul food if it doesn't capture the essence. Stick to what you do best. I spent $30 for a meal that did not satisfy today.
