Windermere Point Doghouse

We had a great time at this hotel. The prices are very affordable for Mackinac Island. There is a beautiful view of the sea and the location is very close to the city, yet far enough away to provide a peaceful atmosphere. The veranda is a must-visit; we spent a few nights there enjoying wine, cheese, bread, and fantastic entertainment. We will definitely be staying here again!

The historic Windermere is beautiful, but the three beds in our room were all very hard. We felt like Goldilocks, trying all three beds to find a comfortable place to sleep. Ultimately, we found relief by adding a layer of padding to the super firm mattress. Thankfully, housekeeping provided us with extra padding for our second night, allowing us both to have a comfortable night's sleep. This was in the family room, "B-12". If you prefer very firm mattresses, this will not be an issue for you. Please note that there is no elevator, so keep this in mind if your room is on the 2nd or 3rd floor.

The staff at this restaurant is professional and helpful, providing service around the clock. My room was lovely and extremely clean. The view from the veranda was spectacular, overlooking the promenade, park, and historical lighthouse. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

The hot dogs are really good and the intention is pleasant.

Looking for quick and inexpensive while you are having a bike ride look no further. Its a simple spot with the basics being hotdogs, brats, and burgers. Also, they offer root beer floats
