Smoky Jose employees on Mackinac Island were amazing last weekend! It's right in front of the Star-Line Ferry Service, and when we got out of the boat, both my guys were starving. We had to wait 15 minutes for an outside seat because we had our dog Cosmo with us. What User doesn't like about Smokey Jose's:
Unfortunately we did not enjoy our meal. My husband had smoked chicken and didn’t care for the BBQ Sauce or the seasoning. I had the burrito and it was dry and just ok. The waitress did offer to bring out salsa. She and the bartender were super friendly and the food came out quick. Only a few Mexican items on the menu. View all feedback.
Our waitress Kricket was absolutely amazing as the first thing on this hot day get some dishes ice water for our fur babies!! The food was excellent, highly recommend the Brisket sandwich or the garbage can Nachos!!!
Great experience! Perfect location! Right next to Star Line Ferry, so we were able to eat and enjoy ourselves while waiting for the next ferry to arrive to take us back to Mackinac! Our server Cricket was awesome! She was super friendly and very professional! Also, a gentleman who seated us I think the owner? was so kind and made us feel right at home! Food was great! Prices were very fair! The atmosphere was incredible! We had a margarita and tequila shot while we were there and the salt that they put on the rim was very unique! Delish!! I ordered the nachos and the presentation was sooooo cool!! My husband had barbecue and really enjoyed it! They had a variety of barbecues sauces that were explained by our server! Like I said before, really good experience and if we ever return to the island we will DEFINITELY be going back!
Amazing place, great food, great staff, amazing owners. We stopped in for dinner with our scout troop (13 people) and they got us right in. I am gluten free and that was no issue for them. I could eat almost anything on the menu(which is rare in most places). One of our boys is peanut free and he could have just about anything too. Trash can nachos were top notch, brisket was amazing and the brussels sprout were so good even the kids were eating them. Everyone loved their food which is hard to do with such a big group. We will deffinantly be going back on our next trip up.
Stopped in for mother's day dinner had a great experience. The trashcan nachos are plenty big enough to share and the spicy mango margarita was to die for. To top it off they had the most amazing salt scrub in the bathroom and I was able to purchase a jar of it! Definitely be returning!!
I ate here with my family not long ago and it was wonderful! The food was excellent, my mom still talks about the brisket chilli and the Brussel sprouts Katie reccomended. The service was amazing Katie was on point with everything and Nicole was amazing with my needy family. Definitely will be back!
