Feedback
I would definitely return to this restaurant. The fish and chips were fantastic! We ordered gluten-free options for our daughter, who has celiac disease, as well as regular menu items for the rest of us. They had a strong understanding of celiac disease and cross-contamination issues. The gentleman I spoke with mentioned that his wife, who was cooking in the back, is also celiac. The customer service was pleasant, and they were accommodating when I inquired about separate fryers, tongs, and other safety measures. I felt very confident placing our order, and my daughter has remained healthy after eating there. Overall, it was a great experience.
I was truly impressed! My wife and I dined here several times during our visit to Mackay. Although my wife doesn't have celiac disease, she follows a similar diet when we travel, and even she was amazed at how delicious the food was. The staff answered all our questions confidently, providing reassurance with each response. The owner has celiac disease, which really makes a difference when it comes to ensuring safe dining. The fish was incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the minced burger tasted as good as it did when I was a teenager—made with homemade minced meat. The crumbed steak with mushroom gravy was the best I've ever had and a generous portion. My wife and I shared the peppermint cheesecake and caramel tart, both of which we thoroughly enjoyed. No concerns here; I highly recommend this place! Cheers, Coop
If you enjoy fish and chips, this place is a must-visit. Almost everything on the menu is gluten-free, and they are very aware of cross-contamination concerns. They offer an impressive variety of options, and you can also choose from a fantastic selection of desserts.
This is the best gluten-free food I’ve ever had! I couldn’t even tell it was gluten-free. I stayed for 10 days and went there 14 times. They have a dedicated gluten-free preparation area and a separate fryer. All their gluten-free products are handmade in-store. The fries are delicious, and I enjoyed the chicken and bacon as well as steak. Their parmas are the largest I’ve seen—big enough to feed three people. I also tried their fish and seafood, which are all hand-crumbed on-site, along with a BBQ cheeseburger featuring homemade onion rings and a chicken, bacon, and avocado burger that was fantastic. Oh, and their breakfast wrap was incredible! I sampled their caramel tart three times, plus the trifle and mousse. It’s such a relief to know that as someone with celiac disease, I can eat safely with my family without sacrificing taste. I may have gained a couple of extra kilos, but it was definitely worth it. The owner is celiac, and her staff is very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place!
Would definitely visit again. the fish and chips were delicious! we ordered for our celiac daughter as well as from the regular menu for the rest of us. They understood full celiac and crucible contamination and the man I spoke with, said his wife who was from the back kitchen is celiac. pleasant customer service and they have not thought to ask me about separate frits, pliers, etc. I felt confident to order there and my daughter has remained good. great experience overall.
