Cafe Castillo - Maceda

Small, family run café bar restaurant in Maceda. It is not fancyLimited parking, but it is possible. There are three areas to eat upstairs, downstairs and a small terrace downstairs as well with two tables. The service was excellent and I have to note that I wanted to make some small changes to my order and the waiter was very understanding. There was menu of the day (prix fix) and a menu with tapas, things to share, sándwiches, etc. I found that there is something for everyone, even vegetarians. The food was tasty and the price was right! Zamburiñas were fab and the raxo with potatoes and egg was too! I totally recommend it. It is an 8 minute drive from the Monastery of Xunquera de Espadanedo.

We went to eat on the way and they treated us wonderfully, the food was great. Both the cook and the waiter are very friendly. One of us was vegan and they improvised an exquisite first and second course for him. All very rich.
