Hubby had an amazing home made venison pie, and fabulous chunky chips. I had a very moreish Queenie Scallop cheesy dish accompanied by lovely crispy yummy fries salad with a rather tasty zingy dressing. I finished off with rhubarb tart, sorbet and clotted cream. It was all delicious, wholesome, rustic food properly cheffed and very flavoursome. Lovely people too. Wish it were closer to home.

Stumbled across this pub after a visit to the nearby Treacle Markets and we will be definitely going again. Despite being a busy Sunday lunchtime and lack of reservation the staff were pleasant and managed to find us a table by the log fire. The roast lamb was cooked to perfection with accompanying sides to compliment including a fantastic homemade mint sauce. Overall one of the finest Sunday lunches I've eaten!

We stumbled across this pub after a long (and very wet! walk. We were instantly welcomed and got the best spot next to the open fire. We had a couple of drinks and loved it so much that we booked a table for dinner. The food was superb and the landlord was so friendly. We shall definitely be making a trip back to visit this wonderful place!

Lovely food, we only had a cheese sandwich but a friend of mine goes regularly and says the food is delicious. Decor clean and fresh, atmosphere at lunchtime is casual and comfy. Will be going again.

High quality, local food at very reasonable prices. Excellent service. The roast beef and pork were lovely and the mustard leeks and red cabbage were delicious. The cheese board was satisfying and their own fruit bread with it was tangy. The local ice creams were novel and flavoursome. The decor could be a little cosier but then it is walker and dog friendly. All in all, a new favourite for me.
