Authentic taste Vietnamese food. My first visit and I was very satisfied. The owner waitress is very friendly too, good hospitality Give a try!
Yet another popular restaurant street in Lyon, and it takes a local (or nearly-local) to guide us to those outstanding places which hide amongst the feeding frenzy which is Lyon 's gastronomic landscape. A success story with the Namdo, where you can be certain to find something to suit your taste in the (for me, still-relatively unknown) Vietnamese cuisine. Absolutely different from Chinese, Korean or Japanese, the dishes here may be unpronounceable but highly tasty. The pho, obviously, is the easiest beginner 's dish. You leave here with a sense of satisfaction and fullness, but never in a heavy way. Location is inviting and cosy. Staff very attentive and friendly. To be discovered.
This restaurant has recently changed stewardship, and is now called "o vietnam". prices have increased a little, but the kitchen is even better than before! products are of quality and ultra-fresh. We rarely eat such good nems. The service is sometimes a little slow, but it's really worth waiting.
We were craving some soup after eating too many baguettes and foie gras and found this great little Vietnamese restaurant right in the center of the Old Town. It was completely empty and made us think twice if we should go in (there is another Vietnamese restaurant near by that was completely packed) but it turned out to be great. Pho was rich in flavor and chicken was cooked perfectly. Would definitely recommend it.
Craving for a good pho. Not something that happens often but when it does it might not be ready to quench. But that is what Namdo promises. Except the soup is standard, chili is replaced with chirasha, lemon is included wholly in the soup (I like it better with lemon and soja in a separate plate so you can add what you want) and lacks herbs. Tastes too much of premade pho cubes. The place itself makes for a noisy luncheon, full of workers on break.
