The owner was rude and when he returned with a replacement burger, sans chips and veg this time (and sans detritus thankfully) he told us to eat and get out. I have...noticed that any time someone says “Calmez-vous monsieur“ it is invariably he who needs to calm down, as was certainly the case here. I put a negative, but fair and accurate review on the booking site which spurred the owner to email me and explain that everyone loves his restaurant, it is clear I have no love in my life and unlike me, he wishes no bad things for me. And he hoped I took satisfaction in not having mentioned that the meal was comped -which sort of goes without saying when the chef breaks food hygiene rules and puts garbage in your meal. It was a completely un-self aware blame-the-victim rant from a decidedly angry man. I’m sure the food, when it doesn’t include garbage, is excellent but the service and attitude are atrocious.

The service -owner included- was excellent, and they knew how to advise me on the wine selection. I tried a three dishes meal, with coffee and wine. The appetizer was by...the house. Good experience.
