We arrived in Lyon hot and tired too early for our accommodation next door to this restaurant. Gladys and her husband welcomed us in and provided cold house made lemonade and chatted with us in a mix of French and English. Our French is woeful so we appreciated the effort they made to communicate. We booked for dinner when their son, who speaks reasonably fluent English, works front of house. We enjoyed creamy hummus, fresh tabhouli and other traditional morsels cooked fresh in their kitchen. The highlight being the kubbe. The entire experience resulted in a pleasurable introduction to Lyon.

Very cosy Syrian restaurant, owner and waitresses are very friendly, the quality of the food is very good, fresh, tasty. But the wine is quite expensive and the menu is small. Nevertheless, as a vegetarian, the owner suggested to replace the meat with falafel, it was very good and I liked that the owner payed attention on his customers !

What to say except that the food is great and the people there are so friendly and nice, it is impossible not to recommend this place. You won't have the widest choice of meals but what you will choose is going to be perfectly done.

10 stars in reality: From the outside, the hotel does not pay a mine, but for me it is the best table in Lyon currently. For about 30€/person, you eat like a sovereign. I discovered this restaurant one day when it was deserted. The boss was closing when we called. He didn't show any reluctance. Embarrased to arrive so late, only 2 to eat, we proposed to return another day. The boss and his wife insisted on welcoming us in the name of the Syrian tradition. This welcome gave me the pleasant feeling of seeing old friends again. We finally left late because we were not in a hurry. Beyond the very warm welcome, which is worth the trip alone, the kitchen is really delicious. If you don't know anything about Syrian cuisine, you'll find Turkish and Lebanese flavours. Ask for a discovery plate. It's not on the menu because the boss adapts to please you. To go there several times, I can assure you that the effort is the same for vegetarians and children. I do not often drink alcohol, but my loved ones yes, the Syrian wines that are on the convinced map. Meat is not Halal, but as I said, vegetarians eat as well as others. I like eating and cooking too I asked a lot of questions to make a choice. The chef is very happy to offer the dishes. Curiosity is rewarded. Try everything you don't know. I recommend the excellent nut caviar, created by the leader in person, the falafels are exceptionally light, the houmous is a unique discovery and the mussaka is a success. Almost everything is homemade. A lot of new flavours. I learned to love what I don't usually like, and what I loved with a lot of demands, I loved. The textures are varied, the seasonings are balanced and innovative. The dishes are served at good temperature. Everything is exquisite! Close your eyes. But soon, the restaurant will soon change its owner. Syrian deaf music improves the journey. This restaurant is an experience. I thank Gladiss and Bader for these jubilatory moments. I'll be right back. Practical information: The kitchen is open without being exposed, so we are sure everything is clean. Do not eat too much bread, it is succulent, but the dishes arrive quickly and the servings are greedy. It is possible to order to leave, but it would pass next to a warm and family atmosphere. The toilet is always clean.
