What about that night at Danton? Excellent service, warm welcome, kitchen worthy of a starry with tasteful and neat dishes, all accompanied by good wine for a more than reasonable addition. I strongly advise, if you're looking for a restaurant at the height of the reputation of French gastronomy, it would be a shame to miss this excellent address. Get your eyes closed!! What Brizzytravel dislikes about Danton:
While the food is good and worthy of a Bib I thought it was quite expensive for what was delivered, two rabbit terrines a chicken dish and a pork dish , both mains were quite small portions and for a two course formula at 30 euros each, its up there. The wine also was 30 View all feedback.

Enjoyed the lovely food in a cosy setting. The kitchen staff were genuinly interested in our opinion and what we were doing in Lyon. Correct waiter who did his job but don't expect too many smiles. Highly recomened, be sure to book in advance.

We were traveling through Lyon and found Danton on TripAdvisor. We called ahead and made a reservation and good thing we did. The restaurant is quite small with seating for about 28 people with a somewhat unassuming exterior. The kitchens opening hours is from 19.30-21.30 and a couple were unfortunately turned away at the door. We were greeted and quite quick the waiter noticed our lackluster french and provided help with translating the french menu.We had a lovely meal where especially; the green peas with smoked ham as a starter, the 72h cooked beef cheek for main and the "disassembled" tiramisu as a lovely finishing dessert is highly recommendable. Had two glasses of local wine from the region which complimented the meal very well. All in all we dined two people - 2 courses with a shared dessert for 70€ with exceptional value for money. We had an excellent dinner and I would highly recommend this culinary pearl in Lyon.

Enjoyed a nice meal here that was quite pleasant. Unpretentious and local, this establishment serves good food just as much as it serves it with a smile. The white fish was delicious as so was the assortment of cheese and strawberry dessert. Loved it and planning to recommend this place for others to enjoy.

We stopped by for lunch in this small bistrot. I would describe their cooking as "traditional with a modern twist." Excellent service and outstanding food. Well selected wine list that paired well with their cuisine.

Small, very French place, super nice but do not expect the waiter to speak any English! We both had the giant ravioli (one pice) with meat and foie gras for starter, and it was really good, as was the bread also. Very small amounts of foie gras, though. We had the scallop risotto for main course, five large delicious scallops in an out of this world tasty risotto. BUT! We did not like the wines and also found them quite expensive. We tried a large pichet (46 cL, 22€) of Cotes du Rhone, and it was not good. Optimistic as we were, we tried a white wine for the scallops. Again same amount and price. However, this white wine was really not good, we both had associations to mosquito repellent. So no matter how good the food was, I cannot rate more than 3 TripAdvisor stars due to the bad experiences with the wines. I tried to tell the waiter (in a quite ok French actually) that we did not like the white wine, but he did not really care...

We had a wonderful diner with friends (Americans and Russians). Being four, we tried all starters and main courses on their very attractive menu (French cuisine): everything was just delicious and plates perfectly decorated. A very good selection of great (and affordable) wines. The service was excellent (the waiter speaks English). Last but not least: you can see the chef in action!

This place is a treat, the waiter was able to explain the menu in English and they had a lovely selection to choose from. The wine was quit expensive though with the cheapest bottle 29 euro.

We spent a very pleasant evening in this restaurant on a Monday night when many other resto's in Lyon were closed, and it was worth the effort. Food was excellent at prices that I did not think were too expensive although the wine was perhaps a little pricy for our tastes, but by the glass was sufficient. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

You simply can’t go wrong with this place…it’s small and doesn’t look fancy, but the chef is simply first class and deserves to do well. Don’t hesitate and try for yourself Bravo chef
