My daughter (aged 7) and I absolutely LOVED the pastry class we took with Thierry at Chef Lyon. It was fun and laid back. We learned lots of good techniques and made local pastries. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Lyon. I HIGHLY recommend Chef Lyon for cooking classes!
We ate at Chef Lyon twice during our one week stay in Lyon. After trying serval of the more highly rated, traditional, and expensive Lyon restaurants, I would encourage you to book a table here…now! The menu is original, inventive, and creative. The chef has a way to using fresh local ingredients in stunning different presentations. Each course is perfectly paired with just the right tableware to enhance the entire experience. One night I had a bourguignon of wild boar (sanglier) and then a “pain purpu” on the second trip. Each was excellent in unexpected ways. I could go on but you get the point, each course is equally adventurous and tasty. Plus the ambiance is simple but chic and the service efficient yet comfortable. You need to put Chef on your list if visiting Lyon for food!
Saturday evening. Small Intimate friendly restaurant. Chef plus one front of house. Good wine list. Menu of 3 starters, 3 main courses and 3 sweets plus cheese of course. Food tasty and well prepared. Modest price- c 80 euros for 3 courses plus a good bottle of beaujolais for 2 of us.
