Avenue Bread Café in Lynden pairs freshly baked artisan loaves with an expansive menu—big salads, hearty soups and standout sandwiches like the BLTT and French dip. Cozy, hipster vibes, fast friendly service, good coffee, free soda refills, indoor/outdoor seating and reasonable prices make it a perfect breakfast or lunch stop; breads to take home and an attached bookstore add charm. The main shortcoming is limited side-dish options.

All avenue breads are very good, but Lynden is by far the best. Much larger menu with large salads. But it's hard not to get an egg for breakfast and the BLTT for lunch. Classic. View all feedback.

This place definitely lives up to the hype! Coming from Seattle, I was blown away by the Haystack BOMB—simple amazing! They also sell handcrafted bread for just $5, which was a delightful surprise. I ordered an Americano, and I have to say, despite what some other reviews said, I thought it was well-prepared. The ambiance was cozy and inviting; my wife, who appreciates details, absolutely loved it too. Overall, a solid 5/5!

I was in Lynden for a silversmith workshop and anticipated that I might not get a lunch break. So, I decided to have a second breakfast at The Avenue Bread Café. Although it was a smaller meal, it really hit the spot and kept me satisfied for over five hours. The freshly baked multigrain bread was fantastic, the eggs were perfectly soft, and the ham was thick and flavorful without being overly salty, as some places serve it. The coffee was also quite good! On top of that, the prices were reasonable. I would definitely return!

The breakfast at Haystack was excellent! Although the food was a bit dry and could have used some salsa or sauce, overall, it was a wonderful experience.

Our second time coming to this wonderful restaurant. We love the extensive menu, and the fresh breads. Try the soups, they are so flavorful. Check or my sandwich, roast beef on rye. There is a great bookstore attached to the restaurant too.
