This was a lovely restaurant. The bread as an appetizer was nice and soft. The specials sounded great. I liked the mushroom ravioli that I got that the waiter recommended. Our waiter was really nice and helpful. They played some classic 80s music in the background. View all feedback.
What Cristin B doesn't like about Milanos:
These guys maybe good at pizza, but NOT Italian cuzine. When 4 large people walk out leaving 90% of the food on their plates? The alfredo was super watery, the meatballs tasted and had the consistancy of bread crumbs mixed with egg. The red sauce looked and tasted like tomato sauce from a can with a little bit o garlic added. Just become a pizza restaurant and leave the rest to anyone else. View all feedback.

If I could rate this restaurant at 0 out of 5, I would but unfortunately 1 star will have to do. We used to eat at this restaurant frequently however after our experience tonight we will not be enjoying it any longer, and also will be recommending Isabella 's right down the street to anyone who asks for a good Italian place from here on out. Bummer Milanos, but really the food wasn 't that good anyway. Here 's the story: we placed an order for pizza tonight and we were given a 6:40PM pick up. We arrived at 6:35PM, and we were told by the hostess, give us just a little bit and we will get your order ready. Have a drink in the bar . 15 minutes later, I checked with the hostess and asked any chance you forgot to put my order in, it 's been awhile past the time she responded that she had but it had been busy, brushing it off as if it wasn 't a big deal. She was INCREDIBLY rude. At approximately 7:32PM, I was walking out with my pizza. 1 hour later! Want to know the response from the hostess before I left? An apology you would think but nope! She said I guess from here on out we shouldn 't give people pick up times . Excellent solution, NOT! You have lost a great customer plus all others we may talk good restaurants with. Do yourself a favor and skip out on a place with poor customer service!
We've been here twice, and both times were incredibly disappointing. We got pasta dishes the first time and a meat entree the second. The food was bland and overpriced, and the service was severely lacking. Our waiter wasn't rude, but he just didn't seem to be engaged with us or proud of the food he was serving. The location is nice enough, but the food is so far behind the vibes. The wine list is lovely, so if you're just going for a drink, it's a great choice. But if you want a nice Italian dinner, go elsewhere.
I'm surprised there aren't more great reviews of this place! My fiancé and I had a wonderful experience and have decided this is our favorite pizza in Lynchburg (I've been looking since I moved here two years ago). The special appetizer of chicken lemongrass dumplings were very good and an unexpected surprise. We loved that they brought out yummy knots (no garlic) with oil and butter even when only ordering pizzas. The pizzas were great and crispy. We often see pizzas that get soggy when there are toppings so this gained points in our book because we got the meat lovers and the alfredo pizza with sausage. We will definitely be back soon!
We visited New Year 's Eve to hear Jimmy play piano and see the new renovations. I was in my comfort zone--the food is fantastic and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. I ordered the holiday special which was a carrot soup, filet, and dessert and, as we always do at Italian restaurants, also ordered and extra cheese pizza for my husband and son who are not at all fancy eaters. My husband wanted to know why butter wasn 't served with the bread. I asked him to please be quiet and just try the lovely dip they brought, which he grudgingly did and liked. I was so happy to have one last successful meal before the new year and can 't say enough about how refreshing it was to dine at an establishment who gets it. From the cilantro leaves in the carrot soup, to the butter-tenderness of the filet or the creative use of blue cheese in ravioli, the entire concept of the meal and execution was fabulous. I 'm very happy to know that there is a restaurant close by where both my husband, child, and I can get a meal we all love!
