First time visit here and the atmosphere is honestly already pretty nice when you enter the restaurant. Very welcoming decorations which are also fitting to the staff's attitude who are also very friendly. I personally also cannot complain about the food at all as it honestly tasted very good. As someone who visits and reviews a great amount of restaurants I am also giving it an extra mark for being a bit innovative... View all feedback.
What Trinetra M dislikes about Appayan:
We had ordered samosas, matar paneer and nan. The samosas were really good, though expensive. The quality of paneer was good, but the preparation taste was not as good as I expected. Hearing it is run by Bengalis I was really excited to get a flavour of Bengal, but I was bit disappointed. I understand that its customized and adapted to European taste i e. less spicy , but the taste can still be improved without being... View all feedback.
I have been there for some time wonderful eating wonderful people, the best starter dish that is not on the menu, they must ask for it is king prawn puree
People very friendly, high quality dishes and prices are correct. I recommend this restaurant for all people who love spicy indian food !

The place is owned by a lovely Indian family from Calcutta, west Bengal. It's a cosy place at a walking distance from a bus stand. We had ordered chicken tikka and we were pleasantly surprised with the familiar Indian taste hitting our palate (though it wasn't amongst the best that I've had). We also ordered dal tadka (yellow lentil soup) and kadahi paneer (cottage cheese) along with Naan and even they tasted amazing. They took note of our allergy to garlic and specially prepared food as per requirement. For dessert, we had ordered gulab jamun and they were really nice too. The whole experience was accentuated by the amazing hospitality extended by the owners. They even provided colours and note pad to my nephew to help him engage and not bored. I would recommend to try food at this place at least once to experience authentic Indian cuisine.
I wished I had photos for the food, but it was too delicious that I didn’t have time to take pictures … Both me and my husband loved this place… super cozy, food is really delicious and tasty (we had butter chicken and meat samosa), friendly attentive service and nice coffee… It has the feeling of a family restaurant (though I am not sure if it actually is)… It can take longer than the average time for the food to arrive, so it’s best to visit when you’re not in a hurry to eat and leave…
