Was ianbeale at Cafe Shimla a mag?
Went here evening of Sunday 3rd July. We were the only people in there all evening. Obviously this made for very little atmosphere, apart from tranquility. Why one staff member spent half the evening with his I phone on speaker , I’m not sure. That said , the food was good , tasty and authentic. What MLM3003 dislikes about Cafe Shimla:
I usually look forward to an Indian on the weekend and this was no different. I ordered my food at 5:30pm with an expectation of an hour delivery. Come 6:50pm my food still hadn’t arrived so called to ask how long to be told it’s just out with the driver it will be with you in a few minutes. It’s now 7:20pm and no food, again a polite call to determine eta of my food, once again told it would be a couple of minutes.... View all feedback.

We’ve not been here for years but will be back soon. Fantastic food, really tasty, very impressed. Staff were friendly.
This was my first visit to Café Shimla and I was treated like their best customer. I had a small complaint with a flat beer, but that was soon rectified. The menu is very extensive with a lot of Indian dishes that i have not actually heard of before. The service is 1st class and was swift as the restaurant was not very busy when i visited. The food was exceptional, I had Onion Bhaji, Chicken Dhansak and Pilau rice, along with a couple of large bottles of Cobra. The price of the food is very good value, £11.45 for the food, however large bottles of premium beer are usually quite pricey at £4.95 each. Total bill £21.25 The restaurant has been in business since 1988, it is smart, clean and very large which can no doubt cater for large groups. I was very pleased to visit Café Shimla today. Highly recommended !
Excellent meal, not rushed and staff so polite. Very comfortable seating, will return for another celebration soon.
