What Mark P doesn't like about Nathan's Famous Hotdogs:
I have stayed at Jellystone Resorts for years, Never did I pay the lock fee and frankly, it's embarrassing and a money grabbing option that they should really get rid of. When people spend this much money and book cabins, give them the one that was available that they picked. Charge everyone $25 more if you have to but don't make it an option. Love the comfort of this Jellystone. It's spread out, but everything is within walking distance. We frequent this property at least twice a year. There is so much to do, Hey-Hey wagon rides, awesome splash pad for the little ones, pools (yes, plural, a total of 3), water slides (double tubes if you want to go with your kid), Hershey's ice cream (not found everywhere), crafts, playgrounds, huge lawn area (so bring a kite or drone), doggie playgrounds, arcade, nightly outside movies, beautiful views and let's not forget where is it located....Luray, Virginia. Some fabulous caverns to enjoy, right next door is zip lining, close to Winchester (Apple Blossom festival first weekend in May rich in American History), close to DC as well. But the best is the time spent doing the scheduled themed activities, to sit down with the kids, no electronics, if we have the energy!
This is a fabulous place to go around Halloween! Everyone dresses up and the big campers have big productions and everyone passes out candy. It is so much fun for the kids! Lovely place for the weekend! We went with 6 other families and were able to book cabins close to each other. We had the bathrooms in the cabin which was nice.
I stayed in a premium cottage for 2 nights with a heating unit that was broken they knew this when they gave me the keys. When I arrived at my cottage, it was 94 degrees; because they had had 2 space heaters blasting before I arrived. Some time during the night or early morning a fuse blew I was not able to use the lights on the front porch, in the living room , or in the kitchen. One space heater also stopped working. Because it was 94 degrees the night I arrived, I had to open the front door leave it open for an hour for it to cool off. When I woke up the next morning it was 55 degrees in the cottage. No one offered me a different cottage or cabin to stay in, even though it appeared there were many available. I was also discouraged from asking maintenance to come look at it. I asked about maintenance coming to look at it, but they never sent anyone to come and try to fix it.

This location is the only one that ever moved us after our notes to be together for this annual trip. I will never spend a dime on Jellystone again, and that's a shame since I just got upgraded in status.
It was a decent place to pull the camper into and grateful we had bathrooms in our rig instead of having to use theirs. Reserve a golf cart as soon as you can because what isn’t broken is rented out and there seemed to be more broken than rented. I gave this a 4 instead of a 3 because the pool area was so nice to lounge by. The views from the pool were gorgeous! The parks were fun for my 13 year old to play on as well! Gift shop was nice to walk thru and they had a decent selection of snacks and incidentals too.
