Smithfield 's Chicken 'n -b-q

The drive-thru service at A Smithfield 's Chicken 'N Bar-B-Q in Lumberton, NC was quick, making it convenient for those in a hurry. The food, such as the crispy chicken tenders and narrow-cut french fries, was tasty and satisfying for a fast food style meal. The restaurant also recently changed their seasoning, resulting in an improved flavor profile for their dishes.

The employees were friendly and efficient. We’re from Florida and stopped through on a road trip. It was our first and last visit. Frying unbreaded chicken and pouring sauce on it is not what I consider BBQ. The fried chicken was just ok. It was fried so hard that the white meat was very dry and not very well seasoned. The potato salad was soupy but tasted ok, the baked beans were fair. Neither of us cared for the hush puppies. All in all, the food was average at best but the employees were wonderful.
