What LaVerne StMary doesn't like about Catfish Cabin:
The wait to be seated wasn't too long, especially for a Friday during Lent. Our waitress, who was wearing a baseball cap with the number 3, was very courteous. The vegetables at the salad bar were fresh and satisfying. The catfish fillets were quite thin, but the stuffed shrimp were delicious. I would definitely come back and dine here again. You can never go wrong by eating here. They may only be open Thursday through Saturday but it's worth the wait. Fresh salad bar with all the trimmings. Crispy fried fish . Great customer service. Very clean. Definitely a 5 star place to eat.
The restaurant features a nice salad bar and a potato bar where you can customize your baked potato to your liking. My wife chose the seafood platter, which included grilled catfish, two crab cakes, grilled shrimp, and a grilled stuffed shrimp, but again, no oysters. She also opted for a baked potato as her side. To start, we ordered an appetizer of stuffed jalapeños filled with cheddar cheese. I was a bit let down because I expected seafood-stuffed jalapeños with crabmeat and shrimp instead, but they were fine. We both enjoyed iced tea with our meal. We were part of a large group celebrating a family member's retirement, and everyone seemed satisfied with their meals. Our server was excellent, managing our table with a great attitude! The restaurant has a bar that serves beer, but there was an issue with their liquor license during our visit, so they weren't able to serve alcohol. Overall, I’d like to return because the atmosphere was enjoyable. Upon arrival, they give you peanuts and encourage you to throw the shells on the floor! As an update, I’ve heard that Catfish Cabin has been acquired by Tia Juanita's, so maybe they’ll have oysters available next time I visit!
Delicious and fresh food! This has become my new favorite spot. The salads are crisp and fresh, the shrimp is also very fresh, and the baked potato is generously loaded. The prices are reasonable, making it a great value. You won't be disappointed here!
