Trattoria Da Ubaldo - LUCCA

We had our first Italian meal during our 10 days trip in Italy in this lovely restaurant. It was such a brilliant start to our family holiday with my elderly mother, my brother and sister. We ate in their garden, under a lovely marquee, just the 4 of us in a quiet and elegant atmosphere. The waiter attended to our needs straight away knowing very well everything on the menu and recommended a delicious local wine for my brother who is a connoisseur. Our 3 courses meal was really delicious and the chef and owner came twice to check if we were happy with our food, making us feel like royalty. The value for money was excellent. We had not planned to stop in Lucca as we were on our way to Bologna but this improvised dinner was a real treat. We are all food fanatics in our family having a mum who cooks really well and we talked about our meal for days following this superb dinner. Thank you very much to the entire team. We were in the best of mood for a night walk in the beautiful city of Lucca where we definitely want to return.

Solid traditional regional cuisine, well executed. Lovely garden seating.

Hidden deep in Luca this small, intimate restaurant really served a great meal. Being out of the tourist area a gigantic Florentine steak was only 65 Euros for two. Highly recommended.
