Like putting on your favourite shoes or meeting an old friend a trip to Sandra l 'anglo dolce brings a smile to your face. I imagine that every review raves about the organic cakes, panini and other produce, which in fact are sempre perfetti so I will give you another reason why you should pop in for a coffee. The family and team that greet you do so with a ready smile and warmth that never fails to make one smile, always time for a chat no matter how busy (and they never comment on my appalling Italian! So next time in Lucca it is a must go.

We stumbled on this cafe during a drenching rainstorm, then discovered it has a well deserved reputation in Lucca. The glass top counter is filled with pastries made on the premises. We were given a tour by the owner on a quiet day. So many choices; so little room in our stomachs. Everything was top quality. The Easter bread we bought to take with us was amazing. Excellent coffee, cappuccinos and tea. We made a point of stopping in Lucca on our way back to Rome airport just so we could visit this cafe again.

Looking for something different and with a touch of class then this is the place to visit while in Lucca. Coffee, tea, tisana and more.

Good friends who live in Lucca recommended this place to us and we are so glad we tried it out. The pastries are amazing and so are the sandwiches and croissants. It has a lovely ambience to it but what made it extra special was Sandra's father. He takes his time to talk to the customers, patiently explaining the ingredients in the pastries. When he realised that we did not speak Italian, he switched with ease to English. We liked the place so much that we made it a point to have a last coffee and some pastries here before we drove on to Florence to fly back. We will definitely be back when we are in the region again!
